Vibes at 8 Murray Street Café

Homely café
☕
8 Murray Street café is a vibe. Even in the early hours of the morning when Tomoyo and I arrived, their were a few fellow early travellers revelling in the early-morning light that hits the front-porch of place.
Their menu has the right mix to hit morning cravings as well as afternoon delights (as exemplified on their Instagram and Facebook pages). Tomoyo and I shared the mush-rueben and opting for the polenta chips as the side was an absolute winner and a strong recommendation from me. Each table also its own access to some provided chilli oil. Even the birds out on the front-porch couldn’t resist the gloriousness of chilli oil.
I feel like a broken-record when I talk about my morning almond latte, but it was another delicious pick.
Although the food and coffee we a vibe, it was the homely vibe that really struck a chord with me, particularly on a beautiful and sunny Melbourne winter morning. I really enjoyed that it really nailed the café-in-a-house vibe with the different areas all bring their own mystique. The courtyard was rad, the interior rooms had a different feel for both sides and the front-porch was awesome. We opted for the inside room at the window facing onto the front-porch (Tomoyo was feeling the chill), but the front-porch looked like an absolute winner for a morning as beautiful as it was.
The staff were also very nice and we copped a big warm welcome on our entrance into the venue. Also a plus in my books and worth calling out.
The café is walking distance to Yarra Bend Park, which we trekked to after to enjoy more of that sun, before heading back via Three Bags Full (another great café to checkout) on our way to see our friends in Kew.
